Meet Zoey!

Zoey Cobb is a freelance percussionist based in New York City. She has performed in all sorts of venues ranging from parading down the streets of Ireland and small living rooms to Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and Carnegie Hall's Perelman Stage with ensembles and organizations like Yellow Barn, Vic Firth Concert, New England Symphony Ensemble, and Mannes Orchestra. Throughout her career she is fortunate enough to have collaborated with or worked for amazing musicians and composers like Nathan Daughtery, Bart Picquer, Steven Snowden, Seth Knopp, Sō Percussion, and Sandbox Percussion. As an advocate for collaboration, she is always looking to provide a new experience on the music she takes part in whether it be solo or chamber. When she is not performing she is busy composing, recording, filming, and editing passion projects with her colleagues.

In 2020, she achieved a BM at the University of Northern Iowa where she studied under Kramer Milan, Matt Andreini, and Ryan Frost. During her time at UNI, she received the prestigious Anna Williams Award, named after the sudden passing of beloved sophomore, pep band member, and loyal Panther fan, Anna Williams. By unanimous decision, this award was awarded to Zoey Cobb as she represented the qualities of dedication and service to the Panther Marching Band. In 2023, she achieved a MM at Mannes School of Music where she studied under Joe Tompkins, Ian Rosenbaum, Maya Gunji, and Glen Velez. During her time at Mannes, she was the timpanist for Mannes Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall from 2022-2023 premiering works by Jennifer Higdon, Adolphus Hailstork, Zhou Tian, John Thomas Douglass, William Dawson.
