Meet Kamilla!

Kamilla Dancsa is a Hungarian flutist based in New York. She received her master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music, where she studied with Professor Linda Chesis. Since being in the U.S, Kamilla’s performances include premiering Augusta Read Thomas's Stardust for flute and string quartet, and playing principal flute under Maestro Slatkin, Pierre Vallett and Earl Lee.

During her bachelor's degree she was a scholar of the Royal Academy of Music in London, studying flute with Karen Jones and piccolo with Helen Keen.

Kamilla was part of the Philharmonia Orchestra London's sit-in projects and participated in the Academy’s Symphony Orchestra, Wind and Chamber Ensembles.

Her main performances include playing under the baton of Marin Alsop, performing with the contemporary Manson Ensemble and playing flute and piccolo in the Musical Theatre Christmas Show under conductor Daniel Bowling.

She appeared numerous times in the Flute Ensemble, where she gained experience in playing the alto, bass and contrabass flute as well.

As a teacher Kamilla has been preparing flutists for ABRSM and NYSSMA exams, as well as various auditions. She equally enjoys working with beginners and players who are looking to have fun and expand their knowledge of the instrument without a hard deadline. Her goal is to awaken curiosity, and help build a long lasting relationship between the students and the instrument.
